Twitter and Fox key to Trump beating Biden and mainstream media

Twitter and Fox key to Trump beating Biden and mainstream mediaPresident Trump’s use of Twitter--whilst making himself available for lengthy interviews on Fox News - are key strategies that should see Trump beating Joe Biden and consigning the mainstream media to an uncertain future. Ominously for Biden –- Trump has returned to Twitter with 18 tweets in just one hour following his release from Walter Reed military hospital after treatment for Covid 19. Trump’s amazing daily output of tweets had previously seen the New York Times--described by Trump as “the enemy of the people”--publish this acerbic statement:

Mainstream media need to take a long hard look at themselves

“Donald J. Trump has exploited social media like no other American president, using it as a springboard to change policy, as a cudgel against critics and as an outlet for self-affirmation. “He needs to tweet like we need to eat,” said Kellyanne Conway, his White House counselor. Along the way, he has lent credibility to unsavory Twitter accounts through his habit of retweeting posts that catch his attention, seemingly without regard for who is behind them or their motives.”
This New York Times report further noted:
“Mr. Trump’s Twitter habit is most intense at the start of the day, when he is in the White House residence, often watching Fox News, scrolling through his Twitter mentions and turning the platform into what one aide called the “ultimate weapon of mass dissemination.” Nearly half of his “attack tweets” were sent between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., time that he spends mostly without advisers present.”
The mainstream media need to take a long hard look at themselves concerning their reporting over the past four years on:
  • The spying on an American citizen--Carter Page--and the Trump 2016 election campaign--based on a dossier of Russian disinformation paid for by Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party
  • The Mueller inquiry - which found no evidence of Trump collusion with Russia
  • The unsuccessful impeachment proceedings initiated against Trump by the Democratic Party majority in the House of Representatives
  • The destruction of 30000 emails from Hillary Clinton’s private server

Trump has abandoned the mainstream media to communicate with the American people directly on Twitter

Trump has abandoned the mainstream media to communicate with the American people directly on Twitter - ensuring his messages and statements cannot be twisted, distorted or not reported. Trump presently has 87.1 million followers on Twitter compared to Biden’s 10.6 million. Trump’s followers number 24.1 million more than the 62,984,828 votes he received in 2016. Trump started his 2016 campaign with 4 million followers - increasing to over 10.6 million by August 2016, while Clinton - beginning with about 1 million--increased to 8.1 million. Trump posted 32,800 tweets, Clinton 7,260 tweets. Trump’s re-election is supported by Fox News--Poynter reporting:
“Fox News has never been more popular. The network is setting records. "April produced the best primetime numbers in the history of Fox News, with an average viewership of 3.68 million. Let me repeat that: the most-watched primetime month in Fox News history. "Not only was that the most-watched primetime month since the network debuted in 1996, it’s a 54% jump over a year ago. All three of its primetime shows — led by Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham — are individually seeing some of the best numbers they’ve ever seen.”
Further announcements by Trump in the next four weeks are anticipated to boost his vote. The polls currently favouring a comfortable Biden victory seem destined to be proved wrong.
