When are the Jews in America going to wake up

U. S. Jews just don’t get it

A column written by Dick Morris and published on “TheHIll.com” on December 16, 2008 had a title of “U.S. – Israel Collision” which caught my eye with great interest.

The more I read of this column by Morris I wondered to my self, ‘When are the Jews in America going to wake up’? Can’t they see the problems they are creating for their avowed holy land of Israel? The supposed ‘collision’ Morris writes about is not actually between Israel and America, it is between Israel and the liberal Democrats in America. Israel has no great philosophical problem with the America that has been led by a Republican administration in America. And further, most all American conservative Republicans, i.e. the real Republicans, are in close accord with Israel and its goals as are many non-Republicans. On the other hand, and side of the fence, are the liberal Democrats who give great lip service to Israel but then support principles in opposition to its goals. This is where the great majority of American political Jews are ensconced due to their liberal consciences that abhor any conservative thoughts even such as Benjamin Netanyahu, erstwhile and very likely next Israel Prime Minister, might also conceive. There are so many liberal Democrat Jews in Congress that they could almost form their own party if they so chose. But they stay as they can always blame the Democrats if things go sour for them. That is if they can’t possibly put the blame on the Republicans, their first choice. In almost daily press releases there is news of unrest and potential conflicts for Israel in the Gaza, Golan Heights, Judea and Jerusalem and the Israel armed forces are seemingly in unending conflict with the Islamic peoples that surround them. But they have known that the American government would always be watching and poised to assist if any major outside force would place itself as if to strike out at the Israelis. But all that came crashing down on November 4, 2008 when the United States presidency was captured by Barack H. Obama, the most liberal Senator in Congress, and the Congress itself strengthened its liberal standings by electing more Democrats to both houses. This could only be seen by the Israelis as a major blow to their tenuous position in that part of the world. I for one, wonder why those Israelis who pray for our continued watch over their predicament haven’t tried to convince the Jewish American congressmen and women to be more supportive of the conservative forces positions. As Dick Morris writes in the article referenced in the opening paragraph above, Carolyn Glick a conservative columnist for the Jerusalem Post writes that “the ‘international community’ believes that Obama will move quickly to place massive pressure on the next Israeli government to withdraw from Judea, Samaria, Jerusalem and the Golan Heights in the interests of advancing a ‘peace process’ with the Palestinians and Syrians.” That has all the signs that Obama’s highly liberal positions on just about everything will also cover Israel’s international disputes going against everything that Israel has fought for and defended for the past half-century. It could be the first step to the total elimination of Israel itself while American Jews sit on their hands silently watching their beloved holy lands taken over and besmirched by the Islamists. There’s no question in my mind that they would do this before ever agreeing to join the conservative Republicans as they try to provide America’s great weight and power to use in helping the small but fiercely independent country of Israel. The Islamists are adverse to any negotiations for peace with Israel. They are, in my mind, just like the liberal Democrats who call for bi-partisanship in Congress; bipartisanship to them means doing it the liberals’ way. During the primary season the Islamic and leftist organizations like Hamas as well as most Muslim countries all favored Obama to win the United States Presidency. Obama himself has remained rather aloof to any overtures those Islamic nations may have put forth, most likely for fear of being linked philosophically with them. Another bone of contention facing Israel as Obama and the liberals take over is the shaky status of relations between Israel and Iran which has sworn to “wipe Israel off the map” presumably right after they get the nuclear weapons on line. Israel, rightly so, is worried about their entire population being annihilated with one missile’s devastating explosion. Another worry is with the uncertainty of Obama’s possible allegiance to the Islamists’ motives for world domination and jihad against all people not of the Islamist belief. It was not just coincidental that one of the people publicly beheaded on television was Nicholas Berg who committed the unpardonable sin, in Islamic eyes, of being Jewish. So while the citizens of Israel have not, publicly at least, asked our American Jewish lawmakers to stop the other liberal Democrats, including their president, pushing Israel to the brink of extinction and instead to side with the American conservatives who wish to see Israel able to defend itself as it deems necessary. Obama has a very fine line on which to walk to keep American liberal Democrat Jews from jumping off his wagon. Schmoozing with Iran could do it.
