This afternoon, Barack Obama gave a long, disjointed, and rambling speech about drones, Gitmo, privacy rights, war, courts, freedom of the press, Islam, national security, Iraq, Bush, and, well, a whole bunch of stuff. Frankly, it was one of the sloppiest speeches we've ever seen him give - one probably designed to draw attention away from his scandal-ridden administration.
It was an "I'm in trouble, so suddenly I care about drones again" kind of thing.
If he was hoping to look presidential and in command, he's going to be gravely disappointed. While the speech covered a lot of territory, the only thing people are going to remember is how badly it was derailed by the crazed leftists from Code Pink.
A few minutes into the address, Code Pink founder Medea Benjamin began screaming about the Guantanamo Bay hunger strike. Things continued to fall apart until, finally, Obama was just standing there silently.
These were terrible optics for a President who's widely viewed as incapable of controlling his own administration.
