New Orleans violent community traitors have highest self esteem and lowest impulse control of any criminals I've observed. I know other cities beg to differ but these guys are ‘unsane', no typo, meaning devoid of basic restraint.
They're textbook examples of dangerous pampering of brutal youth which became a national edict between the August 9th, 2014 officer-involved shooting death of Mike Brown in Ferguson, Missouri and May 25th, 2020 Minneapolis, Minnesota murder of George Floyd and many cases in-between.
Re: New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation X post about hair-raising arrest which inspired my commentary below:
Regardless of feelings about these two milestones, they initiated an era of civilian oversight of law enforcement and, I contend, underperformance by police officers wary of federal prosecution and ignoring or downgrading situations requiring action.
This detente on arrest and accurate charging emboldened brutal youth to conduct chaotic car jacking, armed robbery and aggravated assault sieges.
Flash mobs routinely wreck stores and smaller shoplifting squads attack clerks and security officers.
They've also increased deployment of illegal legions of all terrain enforcement vehicles (ATVs), dirt bikes and street takeovers with cars doing donuts at busy intersections as in-your-face displays of dominance.
It's with this malicious mindset that the violent community traitor in the above X post drove into incoming highway traffic. This was his preferred mode of escape from local police whose federal consent decree mandated pursuit policy forbids most chases.
Troop Nola, based in New Orleans and its parent agency, the Louisiana State Police, are under no.such prohibition.
Local liberals predict every pursuit will leave trails of innocent victims and damaged vehicles in their wake.
This hasn't happened.
What has happened is the day of area violent community traitors being treated like royalty is waning. At long last, they now fear being held accountable.
This unbridled youth brutality has had ten years to mass produce itself. People who've gotten no discipline at home, in school and in public are either going to be challenged or they will continue reigns of terror.
Violent community traitors like the suspect who drove his car into highway traffic have had a decade to impose themselves upon society with no counterattack from scared stakeholders.
Another troubling thought is that they've set a destructive example for children looking up to them.
Safety creators, whether you're a concerned citizen, private protection professional, in law enforcement or elected office must decide how the next decade will be.
