U.S. media suppressing Zimbabwe-style electioneering

If I was a citizen of the United States, which I am not, I would be posing some hardball questions to the mainstream U.S. media (MSM) and demanding unequivocal, and most of all, truthful answers.

As an interested Canadian observer, I am beginning to wonder whether I am witnessing an election in the world’s foremost democracy, or some rigged-vote in Zimbabwe or a Russian slave state somewhere in Asia. Startling reports are filtering out of the country from U.S. bloggers, web-based news sites and alternate media like our own Canada Free Press that are pointing to some very disturbing events. Yet, they go largely unreported by the MSM in the U.S. We have reports of Obama-ite truth (read goon) squads running things in Missouri thanks to the state governor, who are using questionable pressure tactics against supporters of the McCain-Palin ticket. I am certain they feel justified since only racists would vote against Obama. And, yes, I am aware of the arrests in connection with an alleged plot to assassinate Obama at the Democratic Party convention in Denver this past August. That will certain play well with his supporters. I find it suspicious, however, that it would just now be getting major MSM play just days before the Nov. 4 vote. And while skinhead crazies are being blamed for what is described by some as a meth-induced plot, the Obama-ites will like find a way to link to Republican crack heads. It just seems the flurry of reports is somehow a very convenient news item. But back to what is not being reported to any extent in the U.S. A telling item was carried out of Los Angeles over the weekend in a Canada west coast newspaper. The story was picked up from the Daily Telegraph and headlined: Police preparing for riots if Obama loses election. The story quoted Democratic strategist James Carville as saying: “If Obama goes in and he has a consistent five-point lead and loses the election, it could be very dramatic,” he told CNN. Really? Does Mr. Carville think people would be upset? Dramatic? Sounds like what he was too afraid to say was “unless you vote Obama in, his supporters will beat you up and burn your house down.” That only applies, of course, if your house has not already been seized by your friendly, neighborhood bank. So why hasn’t this story been widely circulated? The threat of violence in an election campaign can be extremely effective. Such threats serve not to encourage people to vote for a particular candidate, but rather to frighten voters into staying home. Incidentally, the above noted story played second fiddle to one placed over top of it headlined: Obama at ailing grandmother’s side. I thought it was interesting positioning to say the least. We also keep hearing expectations of massive voter fraud on behalf of the Obama camp. Yes, the story has received some attention. If it is expected, and everyone knows about it, so why is something not being done about it? And why has Obama himself not been pinned down on this for all Americans to see? Perhaps the MSM is just to busy shilling for the guy. When it comes to Sarah Palin though, watch out. Have you noticed the in-depth, intensive and downright silly negative coverage she got over clothing loaned to her by the Republican Party? Meanwhile Obama could appear on stage in a robe fit for King Solomon and not get a comment except on how regal and ready to rule he looked. But if the U.S. media thinks it will win any particular favour from an Obama regime, they should think twice. Sher Zieve in a CFP piece headlined: Obama Begins Suppression of the Media – and more - offers a timely warning to suck-up reporters and editors. In the report Zieve points out how a Miami television station was blacklisted by the Obama camp for asking hard questions. Where did their media relations people get their training, from Robert Mugabe? Zieve also notes how “truth squads” are spreading. Zieve’s column should be printed out and pinned on every newsroom bulletin board in the country. Americans had better wake up and smell the coffee. They are running out of time. After the election they just might not be allowed to speak up.
