Venezuela's socialist President endorses 'revolutionary friend' Bernie Sanders

Endorsements matter to the left, right?

A few days ago, when Kim Jong Un endorsed Donald Trump, it was big news. Before that, it was David Duke. According to the left, endorsements like this matter - a lot. If they're to be believed, everyone is supposed to view these proclamations iron-clad indicators that a Trump Presidency will turn the United States into a racist North Korean-style dystopia. Now, according to The Hill, Bernie Sanders has locked up the coveted support of one of his kindred spirits: Venezuelan socialist "President" Nicolas Maduro.

Venezuela's president, Nicolas Maduro, is backing Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders, his "revolutionary friend." "Bernie Sanders, our revolutionary friend, ought to win in the United States," Maduro said this week during a lengthy televised broadcast, according to a Reuters report. Maduro, a socialist who often criticizes the U.S. and has praised the self-described democratic socialist from Vermont, said Sanders would win in the U.S. "if the elections were free."
No sane person really believes endorsements like this matter, but the left isn't particularly sane. So let's employ Saul Alinsky's fourth "rule for radicals." It states that we should always “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” Since their rules say Kim Jong Un's endorsement of Trump is a legitimate predictor, it's only fair to assume they feel the same way about Maduro's faith in Sanders.

This means they believe that President Bernie Sanders will:
  • Turn The United States into a failed State
  • Starve children
  • Destroy the power grid
  • Kill premature babies because there will be no electricity for their incubators
  • Allow the elderly to die for lack of basic medications
  • Impose a two-day work week for worthless pay
  • Turn our hospitals into horrific abattoirs
  • Give us 8-10 hour breadlines leading to empty stores
  • Cause the prices on what goods are available to skyrocket
  • Decimate the banking system
  • Place 70% of the population in deep poverty
  • Eliminate the production of items like Coca Cola and Beer
  • Generate a massive nation-wide crime wave
  • Cause widespread rioting
  • Preside over the unchecked spread of disease
  • Decimate public sanitation and water systems
  • Alter the national clocks so people don't need so much artificial light

Endorsements matter, right?

Actually, looking at that list, it's probably not too far from what Bernie actually wants. Maybe the left is on to something here. Venezuela's current situation is the end result of its dalliance with what they called "21st century socialism," so it's only fitting to assume that progs who support Sanders want him to bring that same level of success to the U.S. After all, these endorsements matter, right?
