Our April showers have brought more than just May flowers - they've brought a whole host of activities for everyone to get involved in! Time to get off the couch, put down that vacuum cleaner and get out in the (eventually) beautiful weather! In addition to our usual activities, we're preparing for the following:
Thursday, May 14 - The Marine Corps. League is hosting it's annual Golf Classic and Texas style barbecue at Pebble Creek Golf Club. See

Friday, May 22 - We're looking for volunteers to assist at the USMC Family Day picnic at the Reserve Center in Red Bank, NJ. This will be a full day event starting at 9am for set up and ending at approximately 4pm. It's a great way to kick off the Memorial Day weekend and I can vouch that you'll have a terrific time. There are toys and games for the kids, great food and if we're really lucky, some great dancing. If you'd like to pitch in, contact me so that I can add you to the list!
Wednesday, May 27 - Eagles UP will be back at the Reserve Center in Red Bank in the early morning hours to help serve breakfast to 135 of our Marines and their families before they deploy to Afghanistan. If you are an early bird, this one is for you - volunteers need to be at the Reserve Center at 5:30 AM to get everything set up and ready. The event will end at 10:00 AM. Let me know if you would like to help us out!
We will have more details for you either today or tomorrow with regard to the Welcome Home for our New Jersey National Guard. There are two phases of this great occasion, the first will be greeting the soldiers as they come into McGuire/Ft. Dix and the second will be the parade (weather permitting) and ceremonies at the Sovereign Center in Trenton.
