VIDEO: Kenny Matthews lays it out

Kenny Matthews is a brilliant young man. He is the music leader at the church where I was a member when I lived in Grand Rapids. And we're still supposed to go for ice cream, which we will at some point because I love this guy. All this is just to establish that he's not a stranger to me. He's a friend and a brother in Christ. This morning, in the aftermath of another shooting of a young black man by police, I don't yet know what to say because I still have to study the issue. But Kenny took to Facebook this morning with a video message that seems largely aimed at other young black people. That said, I submit it here without further comment, except to tell you that I love the heart of the young man who made it.
