I don't want to say a lot about this. And I don't even want to make it about comparisons with other presidents - past, present or future.
I just want to remember what we had in this wonderful man, and remind you of this: Yes, he was trained as an actor. He knew how to look at the camera. He knew how to tilt his head. He knew when to pause. He was trained to do all that.
But the sincerity in his heart couldn't be faked, and it was never more genuine than on this terrible day, 30 years ago today.
Gosh, I miss him. For those of us who came of age in the '80s, no matter how long we live, he will always be our president.
