Last Friday, when Barack Obama gave a speech outlining his NSA "reform" proposals, I wrote a piece calling the address a "big pile of nothing." He offered no substantive constitutional protections, no evidence that suggested he had any real problem letting the NSA continue operating as-is, and no plan to move forward. In short, he kicked the can in a speech designed to deflect criticism away from his White House and aim it at Congress.

Since his mealy-mouthed appearance, virtually every major media outlet has acknowledged the truth. Obama is in no hurry to rein-in the surveillance state that has blossomed during his presidency.
