The embarrassment of Afghanistan, open borders, the war in Ukraine: How can Americans know the method to Biden's madness? The answer to that can be found starting in 2008 when an unknown Illinois State Senator with no business, economic, or international track record became the 44th President of the United States.
President Obama's election campaign centered on change, a promise he and Biden are keeping.
By nearly every measure, the Obama administration never left Washington; it only had a short four-year hiatus.
As far as inflation is concerned, the trend under Obama continues under Biden. According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, under Obama, the price of ground beef went up 24 percent, and bacon rose by 22 percent, while under Biden, groceries rose by 20% and U.S. gas prices soared by nearly 62%.
According to a January 2020 opinion piece in The Hill, in 2013, the Obama administration gave Iran $150 billion in untraceable Euros, Swiss francs, and other foreign currencies and 1.8 billion in cash… "Then, Iran went on a terror spree, funded by the money from the deal, and created hell in Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Afghanistan and Iraq."
The piece goes on to say that $400 million of that all-cash payment was used to pay a ransom to the government of Iran for the release of four American prisoners, in violation of standing U.S. policy.
Biden followed Obama's appeasement strategy while shelling out only a mere 6 billion to Iran for the release of five American hostages.
Unfortunately, the resulting violence and carnage of the Biden deal eclipsed that of Obama's as some 1,400 allies have died and 3,400 others have been injured.
Perhaps being out of power for four years, Democrats had to double the destruction to compensate for lost time. According to The Center for Immigration Studies, 2.5 million new illegal immigrants arrived from 2009 to 2013 under Obama. With Biden at the helm, that gigantic number has more than doubled in his first term in office.
What significance is it if Biden doesn't know what state he is in or what time it is? The left can still feel confident that Biden will deliver on many of the disastrous policies of the Obama era.
But it's a slippery slope because to stay in power, Democrats must strike a balance between slowing down the destruction of America against forfeiting unwavering DOJ support and enjoying unchecked corruption if they anger their radical base and lose the election.
So the real issue is the speed at which Biden is altering America and, because of it, whether or not Obama can keep his promise to fundamentally and permanently transform America beyond 2024.
