Continuous flouting and ignoring of the Constitution, the law of the land and the boundaries of his office

What on earth would Obama have to do to get impeached?

On September 11, 2012 Islamic terrorists attacked the United States Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. The attack lasted eight hours and resulted in the deaths of four Americans, the American Ambassador to Libya, two security personnel and an information officer.

President Obama was made fully aware of the attack from the beginning and chose to do...nothing. It was a national security crisis by any measure and Obama was nowhere to be seen after he was briefed on the situation. Rather than take charge and act as a Commander in Chief as he is bound to do, as he should have done and as any other President would have done under the circumstances he simply left after he was briefed. It was a clear, unambiguous, unequivocal dereliction of duty. Not only that, he also misled and deceived the American people on purpose for weeks afterwards by presenting a version of events which he knew to be untrue. In other words, Obama failed in his duty as Commander in Chief and then compounded his failure by lying to Americans. Leaving aside his continuous flouting and ignoring of the Constitution, the law of the land and the boundaries of his office, all of which are impeachable in and of themselves, the palpable threat he poses to American’s freedom and civil liberties and his otherwise horrible, disastrous performance as President the question arises...after Benghazi, what on earth would Obama have to do to get impeached? He deserves to be impeached, he should be impeached and America would be much better off if he was impeached, so what on earth would it take to get him impeached, over and above what he’s already done in so many areas? Damned if I know? Damned if I want to find out either. Maybe he’s already done enough actually. Politicians and pundits in Washington and around the country are talking about impeachment and considering the possibility so maybe impeachment proceedings will take place soon, before he does too much more damage...maybe we’ll be rid of him before America and Americans reach the breaking point, the point of no return. Let’s hope so. Let’s also push the politicians in Washington to remove him from office. Now. There are already ample reasons, Benghazi among them, and we want to get him out of there before he gives us even more, as he most assuredly will do. Jerry Philipson Comox, British Columbia, Canada
