Wheat prices surged on Monday after India banned exports of the crop due to a heatwave and rising domestic prices. India's Directorate General of Foreign Trade said in a notice on Friday that it would stop new shipments of wheat immediately but still allow exports to countries in need to help maintain their food security.-- More...
