When Enough is Enough

We stand at a precipice. As of this writing, twenty-five states have joined to oppose the Federal government's attempt to restore the flow of criminal aliens into the country. By press time tomorrow, that number may be even higher. A bad call by the Supreme Court has only thrown fuel on the fire.

Some see this as the first move in what could become our second Civil War. There are many who would welcome such an event, especially the Progressive Left who have been goading the Right for years. After all, they have the F-16s and the military in deep state control, so what are a few rednecks with deer rifles going to do?

The people of this nation have been long-suffering

The people of this nation have been long-suffering, waiting for legitimate government to act for the good of the citizens and rectify matters. Unfortunately, our representatives have failed to do so. Illegal immigration, and all the problems that it has brought, including child sex trafficking, murders, rapes, rampant drug deaths, not to mention the introduction of thousands of terrorists and fifth-columnist agents have been the result. Even much of the homeless problem has likely been driven by government subsidized migrants displacing and competing with low income Americans for housing.

So now we have reached a breaking point. It is unlikely that either side will back down now. The deep state cannot afford to appear weak, and backing off their ultimatum would almost certainly be seen as weakness. Likewise, after seeing how the illegitimate administration treats prisoners such as J6 protesters, MAGA leaders, and so many others, it doesn't take much imagination to think how state officials would be treated were they to relent.

The situation appears hopeless, and without resolution outside of a violent conflict. There is, though, one last peaceful measure available.

Our Constitution has made provision for just this situation. No, the Founders didn't specifically provide for Civil War. Instead, they realized that there may come times when Federal authorities were in irreconcilable disagreement with a majority of States. If a minimum of just over half the states can agree, they can act in concert to resolve matters as they see fit regardless of how the Federal government might direct.

Massive fraud and manipulation in the 2020 election

In our situation, if a minimum of twenty-six states agree, they can act against the Federal government in whatever way they see appropriate. We already have twenty-five who oppose the Federal immigration policies. By morning, we might have enough to resolve matters short of war.

While simply opposing immigration policies might seem enough, and might defuse the current standoff, such a limited action would not really resolve the root matters. We have an illegitimate administration that has been taking advantage of usurped power from a stolen election to put into place their radical transformation of a free America into a nation of slaves.

A limited solution would still leave them in power to complete things before the 2024 elections, as well as great incentive to accelerate whatever they could to secure their control.

A full 10th Amendment solution could bring the transformation to an abrupt halt, and go far to restoring the Republic we once had.

By now, most people are aware that there was massive fraud and manipulation in the 2020 election. Although slow in coming, the dam is breaking on investigations that expose the huge numbers of missing ballots, of rigged counts, of voter rolls inflated with obedient 'ghost' voters, and many, many other crimes by a cabal whose aim was to secure power by any means available. Not having the means to use force, they had to resort to subterfuge and election theft. Herein, though, lies their weakness - their Achilles heel.

Declare the presidential election of 2020 to be null and void

By authority of the Constitution of the United States through the last Amendment of the Bill of Rights, a minimum of twenty-six states can declare the presidential election of 2020 to be null and void. Such declaration and agreement would render every act of the current illegitimate administration null, void, and without effect.

All Executive Orders, all executive appointments, all bills signed by the pretender in office would be voided. Some, especially actions involving expenditure of funds, would be difficult to undo, but many others would have immediate effect. In particular, all orders that have allowed the massive illegal immigration that is the current threat would be voided and the normal laws and Constitutional provisions that applied prior to the illegitimate edicts would resume immediately.

As part of the resolution, the States would establish a caretaker government, perhaps following the provisions for succession that have been set to provide continuity upon loss of a president and vice-president. That caretaker government would serve until such time as the 2024 election established a new leadership.

Some will say that since we are so close to the time of new elections, we should simply endure and wait to resolve matters in due course. Given, though, the current situation, things are unlikely to remain stable for even a few days, much less the eight months to the election, or the nearly eleven months before a new elected administration could take office.

The die is cast, the Rubicon is behind us, the world 'round has heard the shot

Others would point to the chaos that might ensue from such a decision as reason to delay, especially given how various parties might take advantage of a distracted United States to act. China would likely move on Taiwan, Iran, with Hamas and others could execute their plans against Israel. Many others would see opportunity in such chaos. Prevention of such chaos is why a caretaker provision is essential.

A few other solutions may exist, but we do not have the luxury of time. The current situation, where neither party can afford to back down, is not stable. While some would relish the images of Texas Rangers trying to arrest FBI agents who are trying to arrest Texas Rangers, such activities could all too quickly devolve into another Waco or Ruby Ridge, and from there to Fort Sumter.

No, a Tenth Amendment resolution offers what is likely the only peaceful solution. Many would be dissatisfied and unhappy with such a resolution, but they would probably be even less happy with a bloody civil war. Sometimes none of the alternatives are attractive, and we must choose something that is least unattractive.

The die is cast, the Rubicon is behind us, the world 'round has heard the shot—whatever metaphor you choose, we cannot go back, we cannot undo what has been done. The path we have been on these last three years clearly now does not lead to a good place. We have a slim opportunity to jump to a better path.

True, there are bumps and potholes and difficult passages on that path, but it has led us in the way of peace, prosperity, freedom and strength for over two hundred years. We have not yet diverged so far that it is out of reach, but we are rapidly approaching that point.

How shall we choose? Do we want leaders or rulers? Freedom or slavery? Hope or despair? It's that simple.
