When the People No Longer Matter

Eric Bolling subbed for O’Reilly last week so I tuned in (can’t take Bloviating Bill). At the end of the show, Eric gets O’Reilly on the phone. Bill’s saying Hillary’s crimes might not be enough,to stop her, yada yada. But then Eric asks O’Reilly about Trump’s massive crowds, tens of thousands of screaming fans, thousands more outside who can’t get in, passionate, energized, motivated. Isn’t that a good sign for Trump? “Yeah, yeah”, O’Reilly says. “Trump’s supporters are rabid but that doesn’t really mean anything.”

Part of the establishment. These people don’t acknowledge the movement because they don’t acknowledge us

Wait a minute, hundreds of thousands of cheering Americans across this country don’t really mean anything? People who leave work early, drive great distances, park a mile away, stand in line for hours and squeeze into hot, crowded venues for another long wait aren’t going to make a difference? Why doesn’t O’Reilly think the monster rallies will translate to a monster vote? Truth is, Bill O’Reilly is one of them, part of the establishment. These people don’t acknowledge the movement because they don’t acknowledge us, we’re invisible to them, like we don’t exist. Time and again we’re told our numbers don’t matter, we don’t matter. It begins to dawn on us that nothing we do will ever be amazing enough to get their attention, to be recognized by “them”. The message is we’re irrelevant, not worthy of their attention. But the rallies are just one example of our silent screams. After every Republican debate, viewers rushed to vote online, eager to show their support. Poll after poll Trump kills it, 70% 80% say he won. So media has to report that, right? Wrong, the media dismisses all on-line polls as bogus, not scientific, worthless. This silent treatment isn’t new. On the eve of the final Obamacare vote, hundreds of thousands marched on the Capitol to protest. Howard Fineman blogged from the House Press Gallery on his Newsweek site: “I've been around a while, and don't remember a crowd of foes trying to shout down a bill from outside as the vote approached. Maybe it's happened. Though the voices are faint, they're worth noting--and remembering."

To our leaders and media, you’ve awakened a sleeping giant

Duly noted, Howard. But that shout-out didn’t stop Congress from defying the will of the people and passing the most damaging legislation to ever come out of Washington, The Affordable Care Act (ACA). Despite this betrayal, we the people fought on, elected Republican majorities to both houses to stop Obamacare. Yet again we fade into nothingness as our leaders blend into the establishment. Our government continues to fund Obamacare, illegal immigration, the Syrian migration, and sanctuary cities. They doubled the national debt, passed the Iran deal (funded terrorism), surrendered US Internet control to foreign countries, let our infrastructure collapse, neutered our military, and tossed our veterans aside. All in a day’s work for the establishment. But a funny thing happened on the way to tyranny. An outsider, Donald Trump enters the race and reverses Washington’s fortunes, sides with the people and ignores the ruling elite. At rallies, Trump answers a single supporter, “I love you too” he calls into the crowd. He brings babies dressed as mini-Trump or a construction worker on stage to share with his audience, gives voice to parents whose children were killed by illegal immigrants, brings us into their world. Donald Trump doesn’t look out at his audiences, he joins us, stands among us, not above us. To our leaders and media, you’ve awakened a sleeping giant. When you talk over us and openly defy us you steel our resolve, spur us to action and we move past you, ignore your lies and propaganda. You’re just background noise now, no longer the huge influence you once were, you squandered that privilege.

Can you still steal this election?

Can you still steal this election? We’ll know today but either way, we aren’t going to slink away in defeat. You’ve been exposed, Trump flushed out the establishment cockroaches, the Paul Ryans and John Kasichs holed up in the GOP corner; the New York Times, Washington Post, and television networks scurrying behind media walls. All of you who put your own interests above the country, who work to put a criminal in office and keep your gravy train going, have been forced into the light. We won’t pretend we don’t see you, won’t resign ourselves to live with the infestation. Win or lose people like me will continue to fight for America until her last breath or ours, whichever comes first. So to Washington insiders, know that we’ve turned away from your lies and corruption. We no longer listen to your propaganda, no longer see your phony setup stories. Its like you vanished, faded into oblivion. Its like you don’t exist.
