Where have you flitted to, Henry Rogers?

Ibrahim X. Kendi racist huckster or brilliant academic? Does the weight of his donations on the scale outweigh academic rigor? photo NPR

After starting a collegiate learning center amid great fanfare that is based on the thinnest of academic gruel and is notable for the firing of staff despite mega-donations, it is finally time for Mr Ibrahim X. Kendi to be held to at least some of the collegiate standards which dog all the other professors at a noted learning institution.

Sadly Henry Rogers, aka Ibrahim X. Kendi, may have hung around BU just a bit too long instead of utilizing the dead run he had previously used to exit American University. I hope that Rogers’ current predicament hopefully signals the beginning of the end of the false prophets of race, but it won't.

Recall, though, that the Reverend Al Sharpton was responsible for trumpeting, to any gullible sap willing to listen to his empty rhetoric, the phony allegations of Tawana Brawley. While these revolting lies resulted in the suicide of an honest cop and generated enough tar to paint a 747, Sharpton is still a go to media spokesperson on race along with his fellow huckster, the "Reverend" Jesse Jackson.

In future years, despite his lack of academic writings and his inability to “find” or "create" the data proving his "racist" theories, Henry Rogers--or Ibrahim X. Kendi--will someday fill Sharpton's empty seat in the front row of the endless anti-American anti-racist media circus where fawning rapporteurs from MSNBC, if the benighted network still exists, will hang on his every word.

When Kendi was flitting in and out of his office leaving his staff so leaderless, so without direction and in the lurch, with no help from BU administrators tasked with Kendi/Howard's oversight, Saida Grundy was forced to actually meet undercover with a reporter from Boston University's student operated and nationally recognized The Daily Free Press which is known on campus as the Freep. This article, and its follow ups  painted a grim picture of an academic unit, to which immense donations were made, totally adrift on the winds of time and space without a coxswain at the helm.

Remember that this drama is playing out in a 2023 Boston where there are now 15 crimes you can commit, get recognized on camera or identified by the victims and face no repercussions. I doubt that the lack of fiduciary care of monies from an educational institution will rise to an investigation or garner more than a yawn from Suffolk County DA Rachel Rollins. Nope, Sister "Soulja" Rollins will never be seen ever pillorying a renowned black “intellectual” no matter the level of provable criminality. More’s the pity.

Suddenly, arising out of the mist like some will-o’-the-wisp, Ibrahim X. Kendi returned to his office and was "shocked' to find that a palace coup or an ivory tower revolt had taken place in his latest absence. I mean, he probably thought that poor Saida Grundy was lashed to her office chair since he had picked her up on the option after her previous anti-white rants were a brief cause celebre nationally. But Saida, easily recognizing a March hare, reached out with something every racial podium thumper fears--the truth.

There is no end to Kenji's salesmanship. Every Getty image of him costs $499.00 to purchase and woe betide anyone who trumpets a Getty image without purchasing it. As a BU grad, I'd love to know what his cut of this cottage industry amounts to. And Kendi is a National Book Award-winning and #1 New York Times bestselling author of five books for adults and three books for children, which all seem to be reworked screeds of his original tome, thin gruel indeed.

Kendi’s heralded arrival at Boston University would never have happened under the stern gaze of former BU President John Silber, who would’ve shown this towering intellect the door had Kendi/Rogers gotten that far. President Silber was a tough cookie who placed BU’s academic reputation ahead of all other considerations when hiring faculty and it was superb. He never suffered fools gladly, no matter their future worth to BU. He could not be bought by faculty. I worked for him.

Today, however, times have changed when air heads like AOC can obtain a BA in International Relations, or whatever she is said to have "studied”. Unlike Barack Obama whom no one at Columbia “with him" can remember, AOC at least appears in on-campus photos.

But today, almost every institution climbs on the anti-racist bandwagon, because students supposedly clamor for it while forgetting that savvy students are always on the hunt for a “gut” course, even at my alma mater. Why? Dough.

Far left fat cats pour tons of money into faux operations like Kendi’s. Is his continued tenure the result of mere fiduciary possibilities? Was Ibrahim Kendi’s hiring the simple result of weighing his worth as a money magnet versus any academic or organizational ability? Knowing then BU President Robert Brown, who was hired from MIT, was dedicated to measuring his operational employees by their “metrics”, this seems possible.

I am saddened that this overly tiresome and damaging hoopla is rewarded at the alma mater of Martin Luther King.
