While Obama is prattling on about whatever, Los Angeles gets its Rams back

I don't understand the people who assume I'm a "political junkie" because I write for this site. Let me tell you who are political junkies. These are the people who watch debates consisting of 20 people and post their "grades" on Facebook as soon as it's over. These are the people who analyze every ad, watch every Sunday morning show and say things like, "I'm fascinated by this stuff!"

And if you're really far gone, you watch the spectacle of obscenity that was presented last night, even to the point where you're jumping on social media and informing the rest of us which female members of Congress were very excited to get a peck on the cheek the president who apparently now thinks he is Frank Sinatra:

Angie and I did not watch it. We watched reruns of Super Password on Buzzr. Jack Tripper's girlfriend on Three's A Crowd was pretty cute, you know. She was played by Mary Cadorette, who was also an excellent Super Password player. And while we were watching Super Password, we learned that apparently none of the NFL's owners were watching the speech either because our phones started blowing up with updates from the NFL about the Los Angeles situation - the biggest one being this: The Rams, as urged here a week ago, have been approved by a 30-2 vote of the owners to move to a new stadium their owner Stan Kroenke will build in Inglewood. The Chargers may join them there at some point, but that depends on the potential resolution of the stadium situation in San Diego. What we know for sure is that the Los Angeles Rams will be part of the NFL in the 2016 season, and that's exciting news not only for the Rams fans who lost their team 21 years ago, but also for a league that really needs to be in a first-rate stadium in the second-biggest media market in America. The Inglewood facility will also host the studios of NFL Network, so the league is going Hollywood in more ways than just on the field. As I've said before and will keep saying, they need to bring back the old L.A.-era uniforms and ditch the muted things they've been wearing for most of their time in St. Louis. When you see L.A. fans pining for the team's return, all you ever see is the classic colors, which tells you they won't accept the Los Angeles Rams looking like the St. Louis Rams - nor should they. They probably won't have too much patience for a team that plays like the St. Louis Rams either, but there will be time to deal with that. It's as good to have the Rams back in Los Angeles as it is to have woken up in the morning knowing there will never again be another Obama State of the Union to avoid. Now, if the Los Angeles Rams can come back, it's time for Major League Baseball to get cracking on Montreal. Things still won't be quite right with the world until we bring back the Expos!
