They shouldn't have believed Obama in the first place, but welcome to reality, unions

White House tells AFL-CIO to stop criticizing ObamaCare - a request that is declined

The AFL-CIO and other unions are getting slapped in the face with reality. ObamaCare, which they loudly championed, is destroying jobs and putting their cushy health benefits in jeopardy. They are not happy about it, and are not being shy about saying so.
You don’t think the Obama White House is going to put up with that, do you? Not a chance. Obama hatchet woman Valerie Jarrett recently attended the AFL-CIO’s convention and pressured union leaders to muzzle their criticism of the law. That didn’t go over too well, as Breitbart reports:
Union leaders say they received White House calls to stop the anti-Obamacare resolution. "My understanding is that they [Obama Administration] would have preferred that no resolution be brought to the floor," International Association of Fire Fighters President Harold Schaitberger said. "I know there have been phone calls to several leaders, particularly those directly involved in development of the resolution."

Schaitberger added: "If it's good enough for Congress to point out shortcomings, it certainly ought to be good enough for the labor movement to do it without some fear of retribution." This is pretty standard stuff from the Obama White House. Their try to play the American people by keeping them uninformed and stupid. And when their own political allies discover that they too have been played, the White House demands silence. It’s unhelpful when you tell the truth publicly, you know! It’s not working, fortunately. The AFL-CIO and other labor unions are always in it for themselves, and they supported ObamaCare because they believed Obama’s promises that it wouldn’t destroy jobs, and that they would be able to keep their health insurance if they wanted to. That is a big deal for unions, because no one has better health benefits than they do. It turns out Obama sold them a bridge, and the unions don’t like it one bit. They would have been better off listening to some of the free-market champions who said at the time that ObamaCare wouldn’t deliver on its promises. But at least they’re not allowing the White House to silence them. Welcome to reality, AFL-CIO. It’s nice to finally have you aboard.
