Backlash after Colorado mayor cancels Pledge of Allegiance in Colorado town The mayor of a small town in Colorado has declared that the Pledge of Allegiance will not be said at meetings, sparking anger from some residents and lawmakers. Shane Fuhrman outlined his rationale at the town hall meeting in Silverton, a town with an estimated population of 550 people. It is believed that Mr Fuhrman has intended to get rid the tradition for some time.
