This We’ll Defend

This We’ll DefendGood Monday, everyone! It is Flag Day. Yes, it is quite certain to be a day that the progressive socialist left despises. It is a meaningful day to those who believe in and honor our America, and its symbol, the Stars and Stripes. Those of us who have lived a life of service and sacrifice to our nation know that one day, that American Flag will drape over our coffin as we pass from this life to another. It was the American flag that was draped over my dad’s casket, and my mom’s, for her civilian service to the United States Marine Corps. It also covered my father-in-law’s coffin as he was laid to rest. It will be that flag that will be there at my older brother’s going home, my very own, and that of my nephew, when it is our time.

America’s Misguided Children

America’s Misguided ChildrenI must ask, what does the destruction of statues of abolitionists have to do with George Floyd? OK, yes, that is the pure definition of a rhetorical question; it has nothing to do with it. And therein lies the crux of what is happening in America. The misguided children, and that reference is not based upon age, but rather level of rational competence, have taken a totally unrelated event and leveraged it for an ideological agenda that embraces violence. The nation was appalled at the George Floyd murder. However, the rational inquiry that should be made is, what does tearing down the statue of Frederick Douglass or Abraham Lincoln have to do with George Floyd?

America’s Useful Idiots

America’s Useful Idiots“Useful idiots” is a phrase attributed to Vladimir Lenin, who supposedly used it to describe communist sympathizers in Western Civilization. It is a very appropriate descriptor when it comes to the so-called “woke” mob of the so-called “resistance” that has overtaken the streets of America. Well, let me rephrase that: They have overtaken the streets of major population centers in America. The infestation of wokeness and idiocy seems concentrated in the very places where progressive socialist policies have failed in America.

The Shared History of NAACP and Black Lives Matter

The Shared History of NAACP and Black Lives Matter“Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” (Quote attributed to George Santayana) If American Blacks are to truly overcome, the time has come for them to stop being driven into irrational emotionalism. Somehow, in the Black community, reason and rational thought have taken a backseat to the acceptance of thoughts, perspectives, and ideologies that are not consistent with the “proclaimed” principles and values over which many in the black community shout “hallelujah” on one particular day of the week — Sunday.

Liberty or Tyranny? We Have a Choice to Make, America

Liberty or Tyranny? We Have a Choice to Make, AmericaLast week former President Barack Obama appeared with his former Vice President “Basement” Joe Biden in a video conference. I was truly taken aback when Obama referred to what is happening in America as an “awakening,” a “movement.” It was at that moment that I reflected upon how Obama and his administration responded to a real awakening — a movement that occurred during his presidency.

A Black Man’s Letter to Black Lives Matter

Allen West, A Black Man’s Letter to Black Lives MatterIn the aftermath of the George Floyd incident, everyone seems to want to have a conversation about race in America. Just recently, presumptive Democrat presidential nominee, former Vice President Joe Biden, asserted that if you couldn’t decide whether to vote for him or President Trump, “you ain’t black.” ”So, let me clarify something: I was born in February 1961 in a “Blacks only” hospital, Hughes Spalding, in Atlanta, Georgia. I was raised by a proud Black man, Herman West Sr. and woman, Elizabeth Thomas West in the historic Old Fourth Ward neighborhood in Atlanta. My Mom and Dad are buried, together, in Marietta National Cemetery because of their service to our Nation.

Who Decides Who and What Is Essential and Which Lives Matter?

Who Decides Who and What Is Essential and Which Lives Matter? It has been two weeks since my motorcycle crash on I-35, at the speed of 75 mph. I just cannot reiterate my sincere and humble gratitude for the outpouring of prayers. As you are reading this missive, I am undergoing surgery on my right shoulder socket to repair the fracture. It is a bit of a struggle to sit and prepare the missive, and I am experiencing neck pain. However, God’s grace has enabled me to survive and even get back into my running routine, back to four miles.

Fear and Fascism: How the Left Deals with Black People

Fear and Fascism: How the Left Deals with Black PeopleEarlier this week I wrote a piece about Georgia State Representative Vernon Jones, a Democrat who has decided to resign. He is doing so because he committed the ultimate sin, he thought for himself. Rep. Jones decided to walk off the Democrat (Socialist) plantation and gave his endorsement to President Donald Trump. He was summarily excoriated, demeaned, disparaged, and denigrated by the real "sellouts," such as Georgia Democrat Party Chairman Nikema Williams. All of this to the pleasure of the white progressive socialist Massas who no longer roam about in their white robes and hoods to intimidate Blacks. They have outsourced that job to the useful idiots in the Black community they have propped up.

West: The Dubious Dilemma For Democrats

Alan WestPerhaps y’all have heard on the adage, “if you find yourself in a hole, stop digging”. The Democrat [Socialist] party has not adhered to this maxim, and therefore they find themselves in a deep hole, a serious dilemma. And what is utterly perplexing is that this dilemma is all their very own making.

Tragedy at Ft Hood

This past Thursday 13 American Soldiers were killed and another 30 wounded at a horrific mass shooting at US Army installation, Ft Hood Texas. As I watched in horror and then anger I recalled my two years of final service in the Army as a Battalion Commander at Ft Hood, 2002-2004.

My Recent Trip to Jupiter

Greetings everyone and I pray you all enjoyed a fantastic 233rd birthday of our great nation. I hope you had a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend and perhaps made your voices heard by participating in a local 4th of July tea party. My week started phenomenally on Monday when I had the chance to attend the Operation Second Chance event in Jupiter, Florida, which honored five of our Wounded Warriors.

Geert Wilders is Right and I say Hannibal is at the Gates

There is so much which has occurred since my last missive. Of course we breached the Obama 100 day milestone and all I can say is….Holy Cow Batman! However, as I sit here pondering my focus for this month I am reminded of a bit of history from ancient Rome. Back after the defeat of the great Carthaginian General Hannibal, Roman parents would use a simple threat when disciplining their wayward children, “Hannibal is at the gates”. There are many issues facing the Obama administration, and I am sick of his “I inherited this” excuse. He should not have run for President if he finds that he is too inept to display visionary leadership.

‘How Did We Get to This Point?’

How did we get to the point where we are told that “only government” can remedy our current economic situation? Last time I checked it was government that placed us in this situation. Our founding fathers guaranteed us the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, not the right to happiness. When government made the fateful decision that everyone in America was entitled to own a home this terrible crisis was born.
