James O'Keefe Flew 800 Miles To Check One Sentence

Senator Lisa Murkowski told the United States Senate that the SAVE Act would strand voters on Unalaska, an island roughly 800 miles from Anchorage. She said a fisherman or a teacher there would have to fly to the mainland and spend thousands of dollars just to prove citizenship. James O'Keefe bought the plane ticket and went to ask. The librarian, the local DMV, the post office and the city clerk all said the same thing. Residents can register to vote, show proof of citizenship and get a state ID on the island, and City Hall remains a polling place. The fishermen the Senator cited turned out to be seasonal workers who live in Houston, California and Seattle.

The Senator's office replied that it "remains unclear" how any of this would work under a new federal law. Days earlier, an O'Keefe Media Group journalist was offered a ballot in the name of the Senator's own brother. Nobody voted and nobody signed a name.
