OK, so admittedly, it's not a huge gain. But still; after all the hub-bub, all the whining, and all the phony platitudes about hackers and fraud, this is pretty delicious. Not only are results in the state not changing, Trump is now up by a net gain of a couple dozen votes.
Way to spend millions, Stein, Hillary, and Soros!
Trump leads Wisconsin by about 22,000 votes. So far, data from the Wisconsin recount as of December 5 shows that little is changing. The major candidates have each gained a smattering of votes in municipalities around the state as a variety of errors are found, but nothing has changed in significant enough numbers to upend the election. Not even close. Trump and Clinton have also each lost votes in communities throughout the state, basically making any gains and losses a wash.
Here are the specific totals:
Day 5 Totals
Trump has lost 302 votes.
Trump has gained 386 votes.
Trump net vote gain by Day 5: 84 votes
Clinton has lost 293 votes.
Clinton has gained 351 votes.
Clinton net vote gain by Day 5: 58 votes
Trump total net gain: 26 votes
Chris Matthews, in a rare moment of clarity, explaining why Hillary lost and why this recount is doomed
Feel free to chuckle quietly to yourself. Whatever the endgame is here - whether it's a Jill Stein moneymaking scam or an attempt to de-legitimize Trump's presidency - it's probably not going to work.
Recount officials are quick to point out that they're nowhere near finished with their completely unnecessary endeavor, so it's ever-so-slightly possible that the left-wing miracle occurs and this manages to damage Trump somehow. But, Honestly? It's tough to see how that happens.
