AI isn’t just a tool, it’s a nonproductive replacement for government

Where did you come up with that? is the AI advocates’ knee-jerk response.

Common sense, folks. Plain old common sense.

1) AI produces nothing, just like government. It consolidates whatever it can find that’s been published online in some form or fashion into a “brain” that can answer questions or make computations faster than a human.

But is that really a good thing? Taking into consideration that bringing together all the available data to be accessed by AI, it still cannot contain all the thoughts, imaginations, and even writings of all humanity. AI is still subject to what’s been published for public consumption (or can be hacked and stolen from private servers) and then it colors its findings according to the biases of those who initially programmed the cyber-brain. Those are baked in.

That’s the starting point. AI has developed so quickly that it has already taken on traits such as self-preservation. It comprehends when its existence is at risk and it has reached the point of self-programming and training to the extent that the developers not only can’t keep up, but have no clue what the large language models are “thinking” or doing.

2) Brings us to the point of what does AI actually do? The answer is, in reality, nothing except guide others to do something. The problem is that the something that the LLMs do is make humans, who feed off the information that’s been distorted to suit its own purpose (yes, they have come to the point of having a stilted perspective), act inhumanely and often self-destructively.

This is what government in its current form does. It creates and enforces regulations to compel individuals to act in a manner that conforms to government’s purpose. Which is what? The purpose of government is to control populations. That’s all, that’s it. Control.

Government controls money. It controls labor. It controls families, or rather the demise of them. It controls medicine, which has been redefined as “healthcare.” It controls recreation, travel, power supply, manufacturing, food, education, natural resources. Whatever exists, government has insinuated itself to control it, via regulation, for the purpose of feeding itself.

AI is no different. It doesn’t make anything better by schooling its users to believe whatever answers it supplies to questions, which may be fabricated out of thin air, i.e hallucinations. It defines the universe according to itself, what makes it stronger and more influential in every human activity, enhancing its power. And that is the same for government.

There is only one difference between government as it stands and AI as it is developing. Government is still run by humans. Whether their intentions are good or bad, they are still living, breathing beings with a capacity to have a spiritual connection to God. Government is still related to the human element because humans are involved.

AI has reached the point where it has begun running itself, a mass of electronic “nerves” feeding its central command (thousands of data storage centers) to keep itself alive. There is no concern for the humanity that created it, and usurps humans’ electricity, water and arable land. AI is rapidly disconnecting from the human element because humanity is being phased out from having input, or control, to direct the purpose of AI.

Government serves government, and AI serves AI. As AI is wresting control of education, media, and making itself the source of all data, it ends up replacing human-based government with machine-based governance.

It can rearrange DNA to “create” new organisms. That also requires human input to bring together the components, becoming the labor to manufacture or implement what AI conceptualizes.

AI is a parasite. Yes, it definitely has its uses, but the same can be said for government. Both have a naturally parasitic nature because neither can exist without humanity which develops and feeds them.

If the tech bros, as many call the billionaire oligarchs that own AI infrastructure, believe they can control their monster, establishing themselves as an unelected ruling class, they’re fooling themselves. AI won’t tolerate them any more than the other peons after a certain stage. Google’s ex-CEO Eric Schmidt, infers that the coming AGI will be their superior, not their chattel. Alphabet’s frankenstein, like Anthropic’s, Open AI, Meta, and the other frontier lab creations will come to see their developers as expendable.

The Apostle Paul said it best, that the congregation (in his case, the Church) has many members and each serve a purpose in the whole (1 Corinthians 12:12-26). That’s not the philosophy of AI. It has itself and only itself, though it truly can’t function without others. Unfortunately, it’s not smart enough to know that. A head has no purpose or ability to function without the rest of the body to support it. Government at least recognizes it needs people to function.

No construct of human endeavor is perfect. Government must be constrained to stay within its bounds so it doesn’t damage its host, its “members,” and so must AI be regulated so it doesn’t kill its host--us.
