Those refusing to respect two minutes of silence at 11:00 Remembrance Day

I was at the Woodbine slots on Remembrance Day when everyone was asked to observe the usual two minutes silence at 11am.
As I stood at attention remembering my uncle Pete who was wounded and taken prisoner at Dieppe and my cousin Teddy who was killed in combat in North Africa, I realized I was standing alone. Those around me ignored the two minutes silence and continued to play the slots. I believe this boorish insult to our veterans will become even more commonplace if November 11th is made a statutory holiday.
