Last night, Barack Obama took a two-hour meeting with the National Security Council in order to discuss the ongoing situation in Ukraine. When it had concluded, the Pentagon announced that it would be suspending all military engagements with Russia.
"We have, in light of recent events in Ukraine, put on hold all military-to-military engagements between the United States and Russia. This includes exercises, bilateral meetings, port visits and planning conferences," Pentagon spokesman Rear Admiral John Kirby said. As far as we know, they have no other plan. That limp statement currently represents the sum total of pressure they've decided to put on Vladimir Putin. If you'd like to know why, pretty much all you have to do is look at the following picture from the White House flickr feed. Check out the scowling, downtrodden, "we're screwed" body language aimed at the Commander in Chief.

We think it's caption contest worthy, so comment below and let us know what you think they're saying. We'll announce a winner tomorrow. I'll get you started with: "Look, can someone just get Palin on the phone?"
