I heard Senator Levin grill Lloyd Blankfein for "shorting" investment vehicles his firm took into inventory, in the industry this is called risk management in the process of making an orderly market for customers but not taking on the unwanted risk of those assets which they purchase from customers. How would you feel if Goldman Sachs is one of the largest shorts of US Treasuries?
