Crowds gathered to watch a drowning man - and even reportedly 'took selfies' as he screamed for help - after falling into a freezing river.

The man, who has not been identified, plunged into the River Ouse behind the Radisson hotel near the Ouse Bridge in York on Thursday afternoon.

But when onlookers noticed he was in danger, they made no attempt to rescue him, with unconfirmed reports suggesting some even took selfies as the man shouted for help. ---More...
