Trump loyalists should keep one thing in mind before they get too giddy: A little over a year ago, the vast majority of you were huge Ted Cruz fans. It may seem like a long time ago, but he was the grass roots Tea Party favorite - the guy you'd been waiting for. And not one of his positions has changed.
You have.
It's fine if you prefer Trump. Maybe you think he'll be a better fighter, a more powerful voice for working class America, tougher on immigration, and the "put America first President" of your dreams. Maybe you just feel he better understands your completely justified anger. Perhaps you just like him more. If that's the case, more power to you. That's your right, and (barring some craziness that no one can forsee) you've gotten your wish.
However, if you went for Trump because you were convinced that the constitutionalist who filibustered ObamaCare was suddenly a lying secret operative for Goldman Sachs who was hell bent on enforcing a globalist, open-borders future? You were suckered. Cruz's love of both the Constitution and his country is obvious. If you think otherwise, you've lost your mind.
For me, the target has always been Hillary. I've argued many times before that I'll vote for anyone or anything who can stop her. If the only person who can do that is Donald Trump, so be it. I hope he can pull it off. At this critical juncture, there is simply no worse choice than Hillary Clinton.
