Unstoppable winds of assimilation
Culture lose and Immigration
Those immigrants who insist on trying to impose their strange ways and customs on Canadians are fighting a losing battle.
To paraphrase Dylan Thomas: They can rage, rage all they like against the losing of their alien cultures, but gentle or otherwise they, and especially their descendents, will eventually be absorbed by the unstoppable winds of assimilation. This doesn't mean that they have to absorb everything Torontonian, They can become real Canadians, for example, without becoming die-hard fans of the listless Leafs.
