As I see it most of the press is either in denial about the real issue concerning DADT or purposefully obfuscating. Last night as I watched Fox News, which is getting harder to watch by the day, I saw Charles Krauthammer saying repealing DADT was a good thing and that it was a generational issue which should be phased out. This made me almost throw my shoe at his RINO head.
It is not gay's sexual orientation that is the issue, it is their politics. Gays are overwhelmingly liberal and progressive, while the military is overwhelmingly conservative and traditional. The insertion of large numbers of liberals in the military will weaken its resolve and be more inclined not to fight. Why is this not talked about much, is it so obvious that it doesn't bear mentioning? What is it about the media, many so-called conservatives as well, that refuses to discuss this issue. What happens when the generals, admirals, top spy organizations are gay? I also noticed that in the same news hour they showed video of the Chinese army, the women's corps, marching and training. I will venture to say that these women are not liberal and are in full agreement with their commanders or they would not be allowed in.
Repeal of DADT is a political decision meant to increase the number of subversive elements in the military. The Commandant of the Marine Corps tried to pussyfoot around the issue saying he didn't want his troops getting "distracted" by gay service personal in the field, that somehow it was okay if they were in the rear, not combat. This will not solve the issue because if the gays are allowed to commiserate with each other you will have a separate culture in the unit. Front line combat troops will have nothing in common with them. The political and attitudinal positions will be too great to bridge.
The gay agenda is to gain power and influence in our culture, I have heard them describe their goals and they are not unifying. I am a USMC vet, Vietnam '68, and I recall maybe one person thought to be gay, people felt that about him and he did not mix well with the others. Senator McCain argued against repeal but for the wrong reasons, gayness is not the major issue, politics is. Imagine that gays were known for their fighting abilities and desire to defend the country, who would really argue with them. So Krauthammer, Hannity, OReilly, you need to try to get clear on what is going on, not politically correct responses to the question. The trees continue to block the forest on many issues in our country. Clarity and purpose are losing out to noise and purposeful obfuscation.
