Gauntlet is thrown; Obama spurns the People, Congress
Immigration reform, Keystone XL, net neutrality, ObamaCare manipulation (Gruber disclosures), bankrupting coal, bankrupting business... Don't forget the president's encouraging the choreographed protests that followed the grand jury's lack of an indictment of Officer Darren Wilson and Obama's champion Eric Holder's unwillingness to accept the ruling.
With every one of these issues the president has had a field day challenging not just Congress, but the vast majority of the American People. And he does it best from an overseas podium where, last week, he finally announced the executive order granting free passage to five million illegal immigrants which he signed as soon as Air Force One touched down. Throughout his rise to the national stage, Obama has continued to make his case before foreign audiences and for obvious reasons. They're the easiest people to address having no skin in the game. In other words, they have no vote much like the "2/3rds who didn't vote" November 4, not that the President of the United States gives any credence to American opinion other than those he imagines. All one has to do is listen to Jonathon Gruber's explanation of how the administration and democrat Congress attempted to bamboozle the public by obfuscating the actual consequences of the ACA behind misnomers and plain, ordinary lies. Fact is, they never convinced the majority of Americans about ObamaCare, they passed the bill despite the People's opposition. By ignoring the Midterm election outcome and issuing the executive order "reforming" immigration, Obama continues steamrolling over the voters' disapproval and anger when, clearly, America does not want the president's agenda, past, present or future. The president does enjoy a challenge and has thrown down another gauntlet with the "firing" of Chuck Hagel from the role of Secretary of Defense. If anyone believes that the ousting of Hagel was to cast responsibility for the foreign policy (which is intentional not feckless as so many claim) onto the SecDef's hapless back, they've overlooked the conspicuous. As soon as Obama signed his executive order releasing five million illegals into the system, and arguably millions more, the republican response came fast and hard. The incoming Congress is being urged to block relevant funding and, you guessed it, any appointees other than national security positions. So what did the president immediately do? He roundly kicked Secretary Hagel, the one "republican" in the cabinet, out the door, thus issuing a challenge to the republican Congress for a showdown.

Adolf Hitler was elected to the office of prime minister in post-Weimar Germany. With the promise of bringing in hope and change

It's time to examine how well President Obama has been reading his history. As much as there is a knee-jerk reaction every time someone mentions correlations to the takeover of Germany by the National Socialists, it's necessary to take a walk through the years leading up to WWII. What people have a tendency to forget is that Adolf Hitler was elected to the office of prime minister in post-Weimar Germany. With the promise of bringing in hope and change (his exact words) Hitler was ushered into office with the full backing of the people and the Parliament. Then came the changes. One by one, he inched his way to irrefutably altering the face of Germany from a country of tolerance of every lifestyle, including homosexuality, into a society that proscribed religion, alternative lifestyles and, of most particular interest, anything that criticized the new government. And this metamorphosis was all accomplished with the quiet acquiescence of Parliament because members were happy to avoid political fallout by nodding their heads to the new agenda. Before long, those who didn't outwardly agree or condone what was occurring in the national government went from being ostracized to being named enemies of the state, complete with scapegoats--the Jews. The one thing America has going for it that did not exist in Germany is a Written Constitution that was instituted by founders who understood exactly how this kind of "change" could occur. Trouble is, we are in the midst of an executive push to force the transformation of America into something that it was never meant to be--a nation run by a few for the benefit of those same few using the masses to power the few's extravagant living. And who is being saddled with the blame for not supporting the Progressive surge? Tea Party conservatives and, throwing the range wider to encompass all republicans and large blocks of independents, anyone who disagrees with the far left supporters of Obama's agenda. In fact, blame even includes the Jews as Obama's administration turns its back on Israel in favor of treating with Iran, essentially giving that rogue nation the go-ahead to go nuclear. The challenge has been made. It's up to the People and their newly elected representatives to assure this nation doesn't fall into the historical trap of other countries. Inclusivity is America's stronghold, but it is only the exclusivity of liberty promised by our founding documents that can keep America standing. We could allow each new "authorization" from the Oval Office scofflaw to undermine our nation, or we could meet the challenge by effectively applying our Constitution.
