As I was dressing this morning getting ready to head for our local polling place, my wife asked me what I thought was a strange question. Would the patriotic shirt I was wearing be considered electioneering? This shirt is fairly common, depicting an eagle, the American flag, and the Constitution. After thinking about it a while, on second thought I decided her question wasn’t as strange as I first thought.
In the whack-a-doodle world of 2024 America, I could see some demented Trump derangement syndrome liberal accusing me of doing something illegal by simply wearing such a shirt near a polling place. It didn’t happen, but things are a bit over the top right now, even in Montana.
Upon further pondering, it also occurred to me that I can’t ever remember any of my liberal friends ever wearing patriotic apparel unless they were former military. Has loving America and showing it become a political issue? Sadly, it appears that this might very well be the case.
When you think about it, even liberal politicians only show a speck of patriotism during election season when they are trying to sell themselves as “true blue Americans.” Unfortunately, that doesn’t hold up based on their collective actions and rush to destroy America and deny the Constitution.
Are you seeing what I’m seeing?
