IOWA: Joni Ernst wins - and not just because she's 'attractive and sounds really nice'

Joni Ernst has a pretty deep resume. She's smart, right on the issues, a former soldier and, according to Democrats, she sounds nice and is possibly as attractive as Taylor Swift

Well, now she can add U.S. Senator to her laundry list of qualifications. According to WHOtv 13 (Des Moines) Joni Ernst has won her bid for U.S. Senate....

Joni Ernst has been elected as the next U.S. Senator from Iowa. The Republican, a state Senator from Red Oak, defeated Democrat U.S. Representative Bruce Braley in one of the nation’s closest watched elections. Ernst will fill the seat currently occupied by Senator Tom Harkin. Harkin, who has served in the U.S. Senate since 1985, announced in January 2013 that he would retire at the end of his term in January 2015.

Way to go Ms. Ernst! You're the first female Senator from Iowa. Please. "Cut the pork."
