The recent car break-in theft of a firearm belonging to the Sheriff of conservative Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, prompted me to revisit my long held conclusion that it should be legal to stop this crime through deadly force.
I just posted on x:
“I've always thought Louisiana's super majority GOP state legislature should amend self defense law to include using deadly force to stop felony vehicular crime like car break-ins.
“The ante must be upped so that car burglars understand they take their lives into their hands.
“A vehicle is already considered an extension of your home where deadly force can be used to stop car jacking.”
“My suggestion is extend this extension to include deadly force to stop car break-ins the way it is for residential or commercial burglaries.
“Self defense must expand.”
