Liberal MPP Says Hydro Bills Not Increasing Quickly Enough

In a media report today, Liberal MPP Pat Hoy showed just how out of touch the McGuinty Liberals have become with Ontario families when he said that hydro bills are not increasing quickly enough. In an interview with the Chatham Daily News, Liberal MPP Pat Hoy said:

“Hydro bills are increasing to cover upgrades to 80-percent of the grid, but not quickly enough to get everyone connected as we pay high subsidies for solar.'' (Chatham Daily News, February 17, 2011)

Hydro rates have increased by 75 percent since Dalton McGuinty came to office – over 100 percent if you’ve got a smart meter. Worse yet, according to McGuinty himself, bills are going up a further 46 percent. In the next election Ontario families will have a clear choice between the McGuinty Liberals who think Ontario families have an endless ability to pay for their expensive energy experiments, or a Tim Hudak government that will give families a break.
