Libraries Are Eliminating Truth And Attempting To Rewrite History Excluding Christianity

A new report claims that public libraries and publishers are censoring faith from the American narrative while promoting progressive, revisionist history to young readers.

The study by the conservative publisher Brave Books, titled “The America 250 Faith Gap,” analyzed over 300 books from 25 reading lists curated by children’s publishers, public libraries, and other institutional sources for the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary.

Unbelievably, the study reportedly found zero titles that directly address faith, religious liberty, or Christianity's role in the founding of the United States, even though religious liberty is enshrined in the First Amendment.

You read that correctly, zero, zip, none, nada out of 300 books addressed faith, religious liberty, or Christianity's role in the founding of the United States.

According to the report, the lists of books did not include topics such as the Great Awakening, the faith lives of the Founding Fathers, or the role of the Black church in American history. Instead, they featured titles like Ibram X. Kendi’s “Stamped for Kids” and Nikole Hannah-Jones’s “Born on the Water,” a picture book associated with the controversial 1619 Project.

Not familiar with the 1619 project? This leftist loser of an organization is an initiative of the New York Times, a leftist rag of a propaganda machine that aims to reframe American history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of Black Americans at the center of the national narrative.

Translation: instead of emphasizing the accomplishments and the greatness of America, it wants to focus on the flaws and whine about the mythical concept of systemic white supremacy. It also forwards and emphasizes alternative lifestyles and the mental illness that is transgenderism.

The worst part about all of this is that Democrats and the left really don’t give a damn about Gays, lesbians, the delusional transgenders, blacks, Latinos, Asians or any minority group for that matter. What they care about is disruption and chaos. What they want is power, and if they have to destroy American values and Western culture to achieve it, they couldn’t care less.

One way to accomplish their disgusting goal is to dumb down America’s children. They accomplish this by flooding schools from kindergarten through the university level with social prejudices and lies. They infiltrate their woke lies into the curriculum and libraries, and as a result, far too many college graduates read and write at middle-school levels and struggle with eighth-grade math. Their insincerity and lack of caring are stomach-turning.

Several recommended titles focus primarily on transgender activism during the 1969 Stonewall Riots, including a picture book for young children. The lists also prominently feature Kate Messner’s "History Smashers" series, which supposedly exposes "myths, lies, and secrets" in American history. However, all are from the narrow-minded leftist perspective, which means they are mostly fabricated. There are sympathetic biographies of former President Sleepy Joe Biden and the master of the word salad, former Vice President Kamala Harris, but no similar biographies of Republican leaders are included.

The lists frequently use words like “complicated,” “hidden,” and “untold” to describe American history, in what Brave Books calls an effort to reframe the American story rather than celebrate it.

The report’s findings faced strong criticism from former HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson and OutKick host Riley Gaines, both of whom are authors at Brave Books.

Carson stated the truth this way:

“The Declaration of Independence says our rights come from our Creator. Benjamin Franklin called the Constitutional Convention to prayer before they produced a document that has stood for 250 years. George Washington survived battle after battle in ways that defied all human explanation. These men knew where their strength came from.”

Carson rightly argues that it is vital for young people to understand the role faith and religious liberty have played in U.S. history to truly appreciate their freedoms.

“A generation that does not know where their freedoms come from will not know why those freedoms are worth fighting for. Ronald Reagan said freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. He was not exaggerating. He was being precise. When you raise children on a version of history that calls America complicated and unfinished and never once tell them that this country was founded by men of extraordinary faith and courage who believed they were accountable to God for what they built, you are not educating them. You are making them vulnerable.”

Gaines emphasized that teaching children to love their country involves acknowledging its flaws, but it does not entail exaggerating them.

“The problem is that many institutions have become so focused on emphasizing what’s broken, unfinished, or flawed that they’ve stopped teaching kids what makes America the greatest, freest, most prosperous nation in the world. That’s why so many people from all across the world try to live, work, and start a family here through whatever means necessary.”
“As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, kids deserve more than a story about what’s wrong with America. They deserve to know why generations of people around the world have looked to America as a beacon of hope, opportunity, and freedom. That’s not indoctrination. That’s telling the whole story.”

Brave Books CEO Trent Talbot stated that the report reveals a systemic issue in education, where there is an intentional effort to eliminate Christianity's influence from the nation's history.

Talbot told Fox News Digital:

“When reading lists for America’s 250th anniversary don’t include a single book acknowledging Christianity’s role, that’s not an oversight. That’s a choice. What this report confirms is something parents have suspected but couldn’t quantify: the bias isn’t geographic, it’s institutional. Red state, blue state, it doesn’t matter when the gatekeepers are all aligned ideologically and share the same assumptions.”

In response to these findings, the conservative publisher has launched a book campaign for America’s 250th anniversary, aiming to provide a more positive perspective on U.S. history.

Carson’s new book, “Built on Faith,” along with Riley Gaines’ picture book, “One Two Three We Are Free,” and Kirk Cameron’s “Built by the Brave,” are new releases from the publisher. The company aims to provide a series for families seeking alternative books that celebrate America’s history of faith, bravery, and achievement.

“We started Brave Books because we saw this coming. The library system, among other institutions, doesn’t have a diversity problem. It has a uniformity problem. Every major institution has quietly agreed on what children should think about America, and faith, patriotism, and earned pride didn’t make the cut.”

It’s frightening to think that Democrats and the radical left are trashing and actively trying to disguise and rewrite true American history. America is eight days away from celebrating its 250th birthday, and even that historic milestone can’t penetrate the wall of loathing Democrats have for the Greatest Nation in the world.
