“He seemed the natural subject for me to sculpt especially after I produced bronzes of HRH the Prince of Wales and HRH the Princess Royal,” says Caroline from Somerset, an established sculptor with a wide portfolio of subjects. These include life size sculptures of Grand National winner Lord Gyllene for his owner the late Sir Stan Clarke, who commissioned two statues; one for the Animal Health Trust at Newmarket and one for his garden in Staffordshire also for Sandown Park Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother’s racehorse Special Cargo and Double Trigger for Doncaster racecourse.
Other commissions include Trevor Hemmings’ two Grand National winners Hedgehunter and Ballabriggs and life size Red Deer for Sir Jackie Stewart.
She is currently working on commissions for the Jockey Club and other clients. Caroline is also an accomplished animal portrait artist and has branched out into making bespoke ladies hats for weddings, garden parties and race meetings.
