The few hundred people who regularly tune in to watch washed up comedian and lefty talk show host Bill Maher on his HBO program “Real Time with Bill Maher” recently got a real treat. Maher, hungry for ratings, was gracious enough to invite the conservative provocateur and Internet-troll-made-flesh, Milo Yiannopoulos, who stepped into the lion’s den that evening eager to fight to the death as always.
Predictably, he was immediately attacked by both Maher and well-known left-wing shill and comic Larry Willmore. Also predictably, another panel guest quickly joined Willmore in the tag team against Milo. Enter lesser-known left-wing shill and token military man, Malcolm Nance. Nance is a long-time agent of the Left who uses his decades of military service and intelligence experience to push left-wing talking points into the mainstream. His books, Defeating ISIS: Who They Are, How They Fight, What They Believe and the recent Plot to Hack America: How Putin’s Cyberspies and WikiLeaks Tried to Steal the 2016 Election, are thoughtless pieces of shameless propaganda – not to mention the dozens of times he appears throughout the 24/7 news cycle, wearing his intelligence service on his sleeve in order to advance whatever opinion he is there to champion that day. He is Van Jones with a military record, and he frequently flies under the radar of most people concerned about the who’s who of left-wing shills and surrogates. But no more.
At first glance, he has quite the impressive resume. According to the bio on the website of his organization, Terror Asymmetrics Project on Strategy, Tactics, and Radical Ideologies (TAPSTRI),
Malcolm W. Nance was a career counterterrorism and intelligence officer for the U.S. government’s Special Operations, Homeland Security, and Intelligence agencies, with over 33 years of experience in combating radical extremism. An honorably retired U.S. Navy Arabic-speaking intelligence collections operator, field interrogator, Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape specialist and founder of the Advanced Terrorism, Abduction and Hostage Survival School, he spent more than two decades on clandestine antiterrorism and counterterrorism intelligence operations in the Middle East North Africa, the Balkans, South Asia, and sub-Saharan Africa in direct support of the Special Operations and Intelligence Community. On the morning of 9/11, he eyewitnessed the attack on the Pentagon and became a first responder at the crash site.
This long list of achievements (on paper) makes him an ideal mouthpiece for the Left as they continue to covertly insert their narrative into the collective consciousness. After all, who doesn’t give deference to a war hero and his opinion on various matters? However, the reality is that former Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer Nance – as became clear in this episode of “Real Time” – repeatedly used his military career and his status as an intelligence expert to shoot down those who were in his crosshairs. It just so happened that this time, Milo was a primary target. Let’s analyze a master shill at work by breaking down Nance’s interjections on Maher’s show.

Right out the gate, Nance made sure to pat himself on the back for his service as “an old spy,” then immediately engaged in ad hominem attacks against Milo, who never had a chance to finish his point. Mission accomplished. After some banter on the panel, again without allowing Milo to retort, Maher jumped in and to make sure the audience was again made aware of Nance’s military pedigree by quipping, “This guy has done things that allow you to # live.” The bomb that is Milo was defused for the moment. Then, in an obvious attempt to cast doubt on the well-documented phenomenon of vote fraud, Maher shifted direction from Milo to former U.S. representative from Georgia and long-time conservative, Jack Kingston (R). Kingston rightly cited the statistic that over 1.8 million dead people are registered to vote and over 20 million people are improperly registered to vote, which means there are nearly a million non-citizens on the voter rolls that we know about. Right as Kingston attempted to cite a reputable source (Pew Trust), Nance pulled a Van Jones move by loudly interrupting then deflecting the issue back, arguing that 75 percent of the voter fraud was by Trump voters. Conveniently, he failed to cite a source while obscuring Kingston’s citation. Mission success. After additional banter and immediately following Willmore’s jab about the awfulness of Trump and Hillary being reported as a false equivalency, Nance jumps on Milo’s comments regarding Clinton’s ties to the gay-hating Saudis, creating his own false equivalency with “You’ll take Russian spies over Saudis?” and following up with the timeless “Are you American? No? # you.” When Maher asked him the question, “What do you think the connection is between WikiLeaks and the Trump administration?” Nance yet again used the opportunity to brandish his intelligence credentials and push a left-wing lie. After taking everyone through a wormhole of self-aggrandizement, he finally answered the question by further defending the falsehood that Hillary’s emails, released by WikiLeaks, were part of a Russian conspiracy to steal the 2016 election. It’s a shame that Nance’s diagnosis of these “obvious forgeries” failed to pick up on the fact that the very tweets he reviewed and tweeted about were in fact left-wing fake news sources attempting to obscure the real facts. Even leftist journalist Glenn Greenwald called him “a fraud.” Then again, maybe Nance knew full well and didn’t care. Given his performance on “Real Time,” it would not be all that surprising. In a way, Malcolm Nance is a true expert in his industry – lies, obstruction, and character assassination. He is a master of both media manipulation and conversation misdirection. Sadly, at the end of the day, he is nothing but a left-wing shill and a poor public representative for those who serve honorably in the intelligence community. I guess you can’t teach an old spy new tricks. But you can definitely expose him for the old ones.

Bombthrowers is a blog about politics and the war for the hearts and minds of Americans from a conservative viewpoint.

In line with our name, we do not hold back. We have a take-no-prisoners attitude when it comes to fighting for conservative principles. The Left doesn’t play nice, and that’s why they’ve been winning. It’s time for conservatives to rise up and turn the tide.

We’re not afraid to take on anyone, especially the Washington Establishment—Republican or Democrat.
