imageThe U.S. army officer identified as “the primary shooter” in a mass murder attack at Fort Hood was positively identified as Malik Nadal HASAN (a/k/a Nidal HASAN, Nidal Malik HASAN). According to military sources speaking to the Northeast Intelligence Network, investigators are looking at the possibility of additional suspects in this attack that left 12 dead and at least 30 more wounded in a shooting that took place this afternoon at Fort Hood. According to sources at Ft. Hood, the suspect was “shouting in Arabic” as he fired his weapons. HASAN has been described as a Muslim who was extremely upset and increasingly outspoken about the role of the U.S. armed forces in Islamic countries, including Iraq and Afghanistan.
PROFILE: Malik Nadal HASAN a/k/a Nadal HASAN, Nidal HASAN Malik Nadal HASAN Malik Nadal HASAN (a/k/a Nadal HASAN, Nidal HASAN), shown at left, is the suspect and primary shooter in the attack at Fort Hood, Texas. HASAN is a Virginia Tech graduate who formerly lived in Vinton in Roanoke County, according to published reports. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry in 1997 and received his medical degree from the military’s Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., in 2001. HASAN was a psychiatrist at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for six years before being transferred to Ft. Hood in July, 2009. While at Ft. Hood, HASAN worked at Darnall Army Medical Center.
