New emails prove Lerner didn't want her conversations archived, so they couldn't go to Congress

We know that disgraced IRS official Lois Lerner isn't nuts about talking to Congress. Her decision to plead the 5th pretty much cemented that fact. We also know that her emails have an unfortunate habit of disappearing. What we didn't know - until now - is that she was concerned that her conversations would be archived. ....Specifically because she didn't want them being used as evidence by Congress.

New emails have surfaced that show Lerner was concerned about the OCS system in place at the IRS. OCS is apparently a kind of inter-office chat system that lets people talk to one another. Back in April of 2013, Lerner was worried that the OCS conversations might be cataloged. She was aware that her vanishing emails were supposed to be saved, but she wanted to know if her OCS messages were subject to the same protocols. Lerner sent the following message to Maria Hooke. She's the Director of Business Systems Planning for Tax Exempt & Government Entities. It was copied to Nanette Downing, your Director of Exempt Organizations Examinations. New emails prove Lerner didn't want her conversations archived, so they couldn't go to Congress Lerner admits that she "needs to be cautious about" what she says in her emails because she wouldn't want the annoying rubes in Congress to find out what she's discussing. God forbid they tell the American people what she's up to. Then "someone" - probably a "friend" who will never be identified - wanted to know if her backlog of OCS transmissions was searchable. Sounds like "someone" is nervous about what may have been said. Maria Hooke assured her that the OCS conversations were not subject to the same archiving process that the IRS was ignoring for emails. ...But, she warned Lerner to be careful there too, because you never know. "If you have nothing to hide, why are you worried?" is a favorite mantra of the left these days. They used it to defend the President when the NSA scandal broke, they use it to justify gun control measures, and they use it to make you look stupid when you say you don't want the feds having access to your medical records. So, let's use their argument here. If Lerner has nothing to hide, why is she worried that Congress might read her emails? If she's a fine, upstanding, IRS agent, why is she so concerned that her OCS conversations might be recorded? Why, if Lois Lerner is just "doing her job" - as the left argues - is she so desperate to make sure that no one sees how she does it? If this isn't a smoking gun, I don't know what is.
