NFL Issues Mocking $6,6(5+1) (666) Fine To Player For “Glory Be To God” Eye Black Message

The NFL has become notoriously woke. For the seventh straight year, the NFL has felt the need to preach to its customers by painting simplistic social messaging phrases in the end zones of every stadium in the league. This year, the league has provided each team with four options: "End Racism," "Stop Hate," "Choose Love," and "Inspire Change." Additionally, the phrase "It Takes All of Us" will be stenciled in the opposite end zone for all games. The only change from 2024 is that "Inspire Change" will replace "Vote."

The league states that the messages will support other initiatives, such as Salute to Service and Crucial Catch, which will also be featured in the end zones during select weeks of the season.

Last year, Anna Isaacson, the NFL's senior vice president of social responsibility, told The Associated Press:

"We're working hand-in-hand with players, and alongside our clubs, to amplify player voices and underscore what is most important to them.

"For decades, the NFL and its players have been a unifying force in American culture and society that brings people of all cultures and backgrounds together to enjoy America's most popular sport.

"This is an honor and responsibility that the league takes seriously, which is why we actively invest in off-field programs and on-field initiatives that promote unity."

As you know, June has been designated as Pride Month. This means that in the first month of summer, we are exposed to the insufferable sights and sounds of pride flags, rainbows, and special nights held by sports teams, all so a minute portion of the population can inconvenience the rest of us.

In 2021, the NFL crossed a very bizarre line with an ad that resurfaced again last year. In the ad, words go across the screen that say, among other things:

“Football is gay. Football is lesbian. Football is beautiful. Football is queer. … Football is transgender. … Football is for everyone.”

The ad concludes with a rainbow-colored NFL logo and the statement that the NFL supports the “Trevor Project,” an organization founded in 1998 by the creators of the short film "Trevor" after they realized there was no national suicide lifeline specifically for LGBTQ youth.

Football is none of the things stated in the ad. Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant made headlines last year for making that exact statement on X.

“Football is gay. Football is queer. Football is transgender. ... These are wild statements to make. ... Excuse my silliness, I’m going to proudly tell my boys football is none of these things. I have nothing against Gays, but this is far from right.”

The NFL can claim that it is for everyone, but their actions say otherwise. Last Sunday, when the Arizona Cardinals played the Los Angeles Chargers, Cardinals backup cornerback Kei’Trel Clark wrote “Glory be to God” on his eye black.

For that personal message, the NFL fined Clark. According to WFMD, the fine was accompanied by a letter of explanation that read:

“During the Arizona Cardinals-Los Angeles Rams game on September 13, 2026, you were in violation of the NFL Uniform and Equipment Rules. Specifically, you displayed a personal message on your eye black. Rule 5, Section 4, Article 8, Item () of the 2026 Official Playing Rules of the National Football League states that, ‘throughout the period on game day that a player is visible to the stadium and television audience (including in pregame warm-ups, in the bench area, and during postgame interviews in the locker room or on the field), players are prohibited from wearing, displaying, or otherwise conveying personal messages either in writing or illustration, unless such message has been approved in advance by the League office.’”

The fact that he was fined at all is disturbing, seeing as to all of the woke and depraved messages the league promotes. That said, the fine amount itself is very odd and seems to be sending a subliminal message to directly attack the Christian message Clark had on his eye black.

The fine amount was $6,651, which is a strange figure, to say the least. Could this amount symbolize 66 and 5+1 (666), alluding to themes of evil, human imperfection, or rebellion against God? It is also widely recognized as the mark of the beast.

We’ve all seen fines of $500, $1,000, $5,000, etc. It seems as though this bizarre amount was deliberately chosen by some league official to mock Clark’s message.

The NFL seems to be coated in Teflon; nothing seems to damage it enough to hurt its popularity. However, there will be a tipping point, and if the league keeps making decisions like this, it may arrive sooner rather than later.

In response to the fine and letter, Clark said this:

“I got to report to God at the end of my days on the day of judgment! I’ll always give God the glory out loud. All good.”
