As the controversy over Cambridge Analytics’ alleged misuse of Facebook data grows, other groups’ use of the social network have also been thrust into the spotlight, including President Barack Obama’s 2012 presidential election campaign. Reports emerged over the weekend that data mining firm Cambridge Analytica, which has ties to Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential election campaign, improperly used information from more than 50 million Facebook accounts.
