By sifting though copiously contrary newspaper reports Chicago has had the dubious and tragic honor of being America's murder capital in 2008 at Mr. Obama's first election and 4 out of the 7 years, 2012-15 of his presidency thus far.
Per the Chicago Tribune, Mr. Obama has made 25 trips since becoming president—mostly for fundraising and/or pleasure—with only 7 reportedly for policy issues such as community dysfunction. That's one visit per year for every year Mr. Obama has breathed the rarefied air of the Washington bubble. In the interim, Chicago has degenerated into a poverty-stricken killing zone with a new record 484 homicides in 2015. Given this actuality why should Mr. Obama care about the deplorable state of his former political hometown now? For almost two full presidential terms, he hasn't. But now that Mr. Obama is once again pushing his anti-Second Amendment agenda by overreaching executive fiat, why not manipulate the American public with another false narrative that the gun is to blame instead of its usually illegal wielder? Yesterday this Svengali in full fledged wimp mode in a performance worthy of former Hollywood actor Ronald Reagan—a real president—got teary-eyed exclaiming “Every time I think about those kids, it gets me mad.” To these homicide victims of gun violence he added, “And by the way, it happens on the streets of Chicago every day.” Well, where has this Johnny-come-lately been since 2008? Oh, that's right, Mr. Obama has just returned from yet another million dollar taxpayer funded holiday via Air Force One from Hawaii where he played more rounds of golf with other elitest, carefree playboys. Mercifully, when a Republican replaces Mr. Obama in 2017, genuine tears will then flow from the rest of us—for relief.
