There's a currently popular theory that Obama wants Hillary thrown aside and wants Biden to be the nominee. I don't think that's entirely implausible, but if that were the case, wouldn't it make sense that the State Department - at Obama's directly via John Kerry - would take every opportunity to rat her out rather than cover for her? Because they're definitely covering for her, and you haven't figured that out, just consider their ridiculous claim that there were only maybe a dozen or so e-mails out of Hillary's stash that might, at some point, have been marked classified.
Ha. Reuters, no friend of Republicans, has been going through the e-mails themselves and has found no fewer than 30 that not only might have been marked classified at some point, but according to the State Department's own rules had to be marked classified all along:
While the department is now stamping a few dozen of the publicly released emails as "Classified," it stresses this is not evidence of rule-breaking. Those stamps are new, it says, and do not mean the information was classified when Clinton, the Democratic frontrunner in the 2016 presidential election, first sent or received it.
But the details included in those "Classified" stamps — which include a string of dates, letters and numbers describing the nature of the classification — appear to undermine this account, a Reuters examination of the emails and the relevant regulations has found.
The new stamps indicate that some of Clinton's emails from her time as the nation's most senior diplomat are filled with a type of information the U.S. government and the department's own regulations automatically deems classified from the get-go — regardless of whether it is already marked that way or not.
In the small fraction of emails made public so far, Reuters has found at least 30 email threads from 2009, representing scores of individual emails, that include what the State Department's own "Classified" stamps now identify as so-called 'foreign government information.' The U.S. government defines this as any information, written or spoken, provided in confidence to U.S. officials by their foreign counterparts.
This sort of information, which the department says Clinton both sent and received in her emails, is the only kind that must be "presumed" classified, in part to protect national security and the integrity of diplomatic interactions, according to U.S. regulations examined by Reuters.
Either the State Department doesn't know its own procedures or it's lying to cover Hillary's ass. Which one do you think it is?
So why would they cover for her if Obama's gone south on her presidential prospects? The most likely explanation is that they're not covering for Hillary as much as for themselves. It was probably Hillary's inner circle that was most heavily involved with this nonsense, but you have to figure that somewhere along the way some rank-and-file could have gotten swept up in it. Kerry probably doesn't want the present-day State Department dragged down, and if they tell the truth, that's what very well may happen.
But the whole problem here, both for Hillary and the State Department, has always been that hiding the documents is the only way to cover up what they really fear. It's when we find out what's in them that Hillary is really in trouble, and the same probably goes for Kerry's current employees - at least a lot of them.
And you can't hide them forver. Today a federal judge is all over State to stop dragging its feet, and it's only a matter of time before they have to comply.
No wonder Hillary is so cranky these days. You would be too if you're entire persona was a fraud and you knew the jig was almost up..
