Police identify shooting suspect: 66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson of Belleville, Illinois

The Washington Post reports police have identified the shooting suspect. He's 66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson of Belleville, Illinois, the former owner of an inspection company.

The shooter at the GOP congressional baseball practice this morning is James T. Hodgkinson of Belleville, Ill., according to law enforcement officials. Hodgkinson, 66, owns a home inspection business, but his home inspection license expired in November 2016 and was not renewed, state records show.

His Facebook page indicates he's a Bernie Bro.

You will also find a March 22 post that calls President Trump a traitor, and calls for his "legal removal" from office. We'll update this as we get more information. I feel like I need to say this very clearly: This guy's admiration of Bernie Sanders in no way makes Sen. Sanders responsible - directly or indirectly - for what happened this morning. I have little use for him but I have no reason to think he would support or condone this in any way. I debated whether to play up Hodgkinson's politics at all, because it might be irrelevant. But it appears to be the most prominent subject he posts about on social media, and if any left-winger decided to target Republicans for death as a result of the current political environment, that is news. It doesn't mean Bernie Sanders is personally culpable in any way. Don't beclown yourself by trying to say he is. UPDATE (Dan): President Trump just said Hodgkinson died of his wounds.
