Re-affirming Self-Evident Truths on Independence Day - 2024

As we celebrate our nation’s 248th birthday, true citizens of the United States, genuine Americans, may want to re-assess whether they still hold onto the self-evident truths that the Founders grasped in their time when they laid the foundation of the nation upon self-evident truths proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence. Today’s lack of clarity concerning what Americans truly believe may be a central reason that America is facing an existential crisis in 2024. If citizens no longer believe in obvious truths, which Jefferson originally declared sacred and divine, there is little sense of the original purpose for the nation’s continued existence.

Previous POTUS was the target of a pre-planned political witch hunt to eliminate his participation in the presidential elections is absolutely alien to the Land of the Free

I submit that one item on the agenda for Independence Day should be to truly conduct an internal inventory to determine what one is willing to promote or defend in this presidential election year. And, to be completely honest, it goes beyond whether one candidate is senile, or another is bombastic. Each of these candidates (the ‘jury’ is still out on whether Biden will be the chosen candidate of the Democrats) represent a political party, and the political party represents an agenda to be used to direct the nation. Sometimes agendas are not always transparent to the public, or an agenda deceives the populace in order to gain votes and official positions. An agenda of deceit can have serious adverse consequences for millions and millions of people.

The events of the previous years in which a previous POTUS was the target of a pre-planned political witch hunt to eliminate his participation in the presidential elections is absolutely alien to the Land of the Free, if one uses the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution as standards of measurement to determine whether government officials are in pursuit of Freedom or in pursuit of their personal or political fame, money, or power.

Weaponization of America's system of justice: Egregious injustice of one political party against another

The events of the previous months in which friends and allies of the previous POTUS have been politically targeted for standing in support of him are absolutely Stalinesque, or reminiscent of Mao getting rid of the enemies of the CCP. They are the opposite of fundamental American values.

The events of the previous weeks in which a number of allegations and charges against President Trump have dissolved or have been voided is indicative of the egregious injustice of one political party against another to the highest degree. Weaponization of America's system of justice, which is morphing into a system of injustice, reverses the concept of “innocent until PROVEN guilty.” The mainstream media has aided and abetted this injustice system via “trial by media,” in order to taint, or marginalize anyone who speaks up or speaks out against the agenda of the criminal political cabal attempting to establish dominion over the USA.

The ‘debate’ of last week, specifically the premature nature of this event in the context of the 2024 presidential election, was most unusual in so many ways that citizens across the nation may still wonder how Joe Biden could handle the nation if he could do so poorly handling the brief interchange with Donald Trump. One noteworthy fact as a backdrop to the unusual reality was that the Republican candidate did not even show up to the debates with the other GOP candidates in the early stages of the election season. And, the Democrat candidate may not have showed up to that debate last week—although he was physically present…

Ronald Reagan: Time of Choosing

As Americans celebrate the nation’s birthday, the aftershocks from this event are still stirring up a great deal of fallout that will have serious implications or consequences, not only for this year’s election, but for the future course of America into the new millennium. However, the existential crisis our nation is facing in 2024 is not limited to the two individuals intending to represent their respective political parties in their run for POTUS. It also includes, and always has included, the will of the people. And, that has a great deal to do with whether or not “We the People” still hold onto the self-evident truths that the founding generation embraced at the birth of our nation. If citizens cannot hold onto the self-evident truths, Americans are not entitled to the freedoms that others were willing to sacrifice for when their turn came to keep the flame of freedom burning brightly

Ronald Reagan was referring to this same perspective when he gave a nomination speech for Barry Goldwater for POTUS in 1964. Yet, 2024, more than any other election year in the history of our nation, represents that time of ‘choosing’ that Ronald Reagan referred to nearly 60 years ago. The debate and this year’s election maneuvering between the two parties has revealed the most blatant contrast in visions for the future for America as offered by the two political parties.

American citizens must choose

American citizens must choose whether they hold to the self-evident truths of equality under the law, rather than a double standard as evidenced today.

American citizens must choose whether they believe in equal justice under the law, or whether crimes can be assigned to those the party in power wishes to prosecute.

American citizens must choose whether “We the People” are the recipients of inalienable rights from God, or whether they can be arbitrarily given and removed by the power of petty men and women who relish power over principle.

American citizens must choose whether their government should uphold and protect life and liberty as rights given to us by God Almighty, or whether the polluted minds of men and women can take such life and liberty away in arbitrary decisions justified by corrupted ideological premises.

American citizens must choose whether their government should condone, approve and promote the pursuit of selfish and immoral pleasures, or whether the people’s government should promote the pursuit of happiness rooted in public virtue.

American citizens have gradually forfeited their citizenship for material comfort, electronic magic and wizardry, and the pursuit of wealth

While the choice between the candidates provides an incredibly clear contrast in America’s future moving into this millennium, it is up to the people to make the decisions of what they favor. However, the will of the people can be, and has been, manipulated in numerous ways through unscrupulous political operatives who have little regard for the principles established by the Bill of Rights of the U.S. Constitution. Additionally, the will of the people can be ignored by immoral and unethical political operatives who see no value in the values embedded in the Declaration of Independence. This reality cannot be changed by the wave of a “magic wand” by anyone waiting for such “divine intervention.” Waiting will not enable keeping the Republic.

Reality can change in 2024, first through individuals looking sincerely into their mirror each day and honestly asking themselves what they truly believe in that would prompt them to take action to promote or protect that belief or set of beliefs. Tragically, over a considerable period of time, American citizens have gradually forfeited their citizenship for material comfort, electronic magic and wizardry, and the pursuit of wealth (as one pathway to happiness) rather than paying much attention to the fundamental principles at the foundation of the nation. Today, it’s no accident the foundations are being shaken. In such a time as this, on such a day as this, American citizens have come to that proverbial fork in the road and the moment that Reagan described as a “time of choosing.”

By the proclamations in our Declaration, it is the right of the people to insist in every way possible that the government derives its just powers from the consent of the people. It is such a time as this, long overdue, that “We the People” determine to reorganize the government of the people, by the people, and for the people once again upon the original Ideals and Principles that are still embedded in the foundations of our nation.
