I took time after work today to visit the site of the Bourbon Street terror attack.
Couldn't help but wonder how local laxness will once again aid and abet assailants targeting crowded public spaces?
Politically motivated or apolitical, the reason for such violence is well worth planning and acting against, instead of doing nothing.
That's what filled my soul at the site, reflecting that those in power did nothing against a terror threat many in the 'know' regarding securing public spaces repeatedly warned would strike here as was seen during a Christmas time vehicle attack on crowds in Germany last year.
I checked on my favorite Canal St. vendor right afterward and did a Shahed Wali Muhammad (NOPD Ret) memorial table watch while the vendor prayed, just as our late New Orleans police officer friend did countless times beforehand.
Unlike local powers that be, I can take extra effort to fill empty civic gaps with safety instead of coasting along on inertia and indifference.
