During racketeer Rick Rizzolo's last stay in prison, it was reported that he was given cell phone privileges.
Rizzolo's cell mate was released several months in advance of Rizzolo's release. The "celly" stated that Rizzolo was allowed to use a cell phone in his cell any time he wished. If the cell mate's information is correct, cell phone privileges may have been made available to Rizzolo because the Federal Court had ordered him to sell the Crazy Horse Too in order to pay his debts, and he probably convinced the warden that all his conversations were for that purpose. On September 14, Rizzolo returns to Federal Prison for an additional 9 month stay for violating the conditions of his parole. According to the Federal Inmate Handbook, the use of cell phones is strictly prohibited. Therefore, it's not anticipated that Rizzolo will be re-afforded cell phone privileges during his next stay because he no longer has court ordered business to conduct. - SM
