Still no truth in Pravda

In the old USSR, Pravda (meaning truth) was the the official newspaper of the Soviet Communist Party, and Izvestia (meaning news) was the official paper of the Soviet government.
The citizens of Moscow used to say, very softly, that in Pravda there was no news and in Izvestia there was no truth. Now that the “Evil Empire” is no more, and ex KGB chief Vladimir Putin is running Russia, guess what? There’s still no truth in Pravda and still no news in Izvestia. Plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose.
