Safety Implications of the Trump Guilty Verdicts

Fellow fighters, I'm not going to speak for nor against viral guilty verdicts in the Trump New York trial.

Those arguments are covered, ad nauseum.

I will, however, speak to its safety Implications.

It doesn't take Walter Mosley's super sleuth Easy Rawlins to realize this will push otherwise reasonable people into becoming unreasonable and some percentage of unreasonable ones into doing the unforgivable.

The above dynamic applies to both sides of the aisle. We can debate which side is more prone to excessive behavior but excessive behavior is unavoidable at this point.

Two partisan national conventions loom and so does more destructive political expressions (violent crime and domestic terrorism to objective observers) at these sites and nationally.

The 2020 riots may pale by comparison to this explosive election cycle.

Toss in opportunistic, apolitical career criminals and we have every reason to monitor local and national trends.

During safety strategy discussions, I always urge concerned citizens not change beliefs but to change tactics to better address troubling threats.

You know what your comfort zone, and the law, is concerning ballistic and other safety devices, willingness to use force in self defense, whether your home is secure from forced entry, supply access in case of curfews or collapse after catastrophy and likelihood of having to "bug out" or escape your area due to individual or large scale danger.

These and other emergency planning considerations have been been outlined and discussed in certain circles since the controversial conclusion of former President Trump's first term.

Following these guilty verdicts, reviewing our emergency plans is very timely based on domestic and foreign actors who will use them to stir up trouble for folks on both sides of the aisle and those unaffiliated.
